Hawaiian Surf Adventure offers exclusive beginner surf lessons by boat! Enjoy a scenic boat ride of Maunalua Bay and learn to surf away from the crowds of Waikiki.
Upon arrival, a 30 minute land lesson is given at the boat dock, and then you are taken to an un-crowded surf break via shuttle boat. The boat is then anchored next to the surf location where the one hour water lesson is given. You are then brought back to the office via shuttle boat where you review photos and videos of your surfing adventure.
If anyone in your group does not want to surf, they are welcome to come along for the boat ride to watch the surf lesson and enjoy the options of snorkeling, swimming or just enjoying the view of beautiful Maunaloa Bay.
120 minute Lesson Schedule:
30 minute classroom lesson
15 minute boat travel time
60 minute surf session
15 minute return boat travel time
8 people or less in each class with 3:1 student/instructor ratio.
What to Know
Daily
Check in times: 9:00am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm at the Koko Marina Shopping Center, Water Sports Center courtyard directly across from the movie theaters.
Transportation: Roundtrip transportation is available from Waikiki for an additional cost.
Included: soft-top surf boards with leash, long sleeve rash guards, life vests available upon request.
Please bring: towel, sunscreen. There is a bathroom upon check in and outdoor shower for afterward.
Restrictions: Minimum age requirement is 6 years old.
Instructors are Lifeguard and CPR trained and certified by City and County of Honolulu.
