This Tihati Production of Havaiki, "A Journey to New Lands", will give you a glimpse of Hawaiian history, culture, and tradition. You will find the feast unparalleled, with traditional Hawaiian dishes, as well as delicious cuisine from all of Hawai‘i’s modern-day cultures. An essential part of the lu‘au is the entertainment. Enjoy contemporary Hawaiian music while sipping a tropical drink and sampling pupu (appetizers). Then delight in the extraordinary Polynesian revue. We hope that you will enjoy this slice of Hawaiian culture and take with you a new-found reverence for our Hawaiian host culture, as well as a pleasantly full ‘opu (belly).
The extraordinary entertainment features authentic Polynesian musicians and dancers performing chants, songs and dances from all of the Polynesian islands. Experience the ancient Hawaiian hula kahiko, modern hula ‘auana, the pulsating dances of Tahiti, Maori dances from New Zealand, and the exhilarating fire knife dance of Samoa.
Our feast offers the best of traditional Hawaiian and modern Hawai‘i fare. You will enjoy traditional Hawaiian dishes such as Kalua Pork - tender pork cooked in an underground imu or oven, haupia – a coconut pudding, roasted Hawaiian sweet potato, and poi - a staple food made from the mashed root of the taro plant mixed with water and fermented for about up to 3 days, frequently called "Hawaiian Yogurt".
Cold Salads: Fresh Sliced Tropical Fruits with Lychee & Papaya, Garden Isle Greens, Hawaiian-style Somen Salad, Kim Chee, Lomilomi Salmon, Namasu with Ogo, Pipi Kaula with Tomatoes & Onions.
Cooked Vegetables: Wok Cooked Fresh Vegetables
Hot Dishes: Grilled Chicken with Tropical Guava Sauce & Fresh Pineapple, Steamed Local-style Fresh Fish on Baby Bok Choy with Cilantro & Ginger, Teriyaki Steak, Traditional Kalua Pig
Starches: Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes, Poi, Steamed Island Rice, Taro Rolls & Butter
