Maui Downhill Bicycle Safari Tours of Haleakala are guided by our professional staff of Cruise Leaders and Safari Drivers. Every tour is escorted by a Maui Downhill Safari van for your safety and comfort. You may ride in the escort van at any time. Value Sunrise at 6500 Ft. 6 to 7 hours
Sunrise from the Top of Haleakala Ranch’s open range switchbacks overlooks the Maui Central Valley, West Maui Mountains, Maui’s north shore and the neighbor islands of Molokai and Lanai. Sunrise bike safari descends the 29 Switchback slopes of Haleakala, the world’s largest resting volcano and the Upcountry towns of Kula and Pukalani. Full bi-coastal panoramas of the Maui central valley, photo stops to capture Maui’s beautiful landscape and the open range of Haleakala Ranch. Bike safari through eucalyptus forests and experience the wonderful upcountry communities of Kula and Pukalani. Flower farms and Jacaranda tree lined roadways present the best of Upcountry. The van tour continues from the town of Pukalani with information and history of Maui’s sugar cane and pineapple plantation days. Tour time is 7 to 8 hours from hotel or condominium pick up to return. This tour does not enter the National Park.

Van tour from the summit of Haleakala through the National Park. (If weather conditions at the summit are too wet or windy we will drop to a lower elevation to start the bike safari.) Full bi-coastal panoramas of the Maui central valley, photo stops to capture the beautiful landscape, Pacific Ocean and green rolling hills of Haleakala Ranch. Bike safari coasts down the exciting 29 switchbacks on the western slopes of Haleakala, the world’s largest resting volcano. Experience the sights of Upcountry communities of Kula and Pukalani. Bike tour through pine and eucalyptus forests. Flower farms and jacaranda tree-lined roadways present the best of Upcountry. Enjoy a no host breakfast and rest stop at Sunrise Market and Flower Farm. After breakfast customers will relax as their guides give them a van tour from Pukalani with information and history of Maui’s sugar cane and pineapple plantation days. This tour will complete the 78 mile roundtrip from our base headquarters in Kahului to the summit of Haleakala volcano and the Maui Downhill Super Sunrise Bike Tour. Tour time is 9 to 10 hours from hotel or condominium pick up to return. This tour does not bike in the National Park.

Riders will enjoy full bi-coastal panoramas of Maui’s central valley and West Maui Mountains with photo stops to capture Maui’s beautiful landscape and the open range of Haleakala Ranch. Bike safari through pine and eucalyptus forests. The riders will experience the wonderful Upcountry communities of Kula and Pukalani. Enjoy a no-host lunch and rest stop at Sunrise Market and Flower Farm, where you will have time to purchase your meal. Bike safari continues after lunch with highlights of Kula, Upcountry, grazing cattle and the beautiful Maui landscapes. Reaching Pukalani customers will relax as their guides give them a van tour from Pukalani with information and history of Maui’s sugar and pineapple plantation days. This van tour will complete the 78 mile roundtrip from our base headquarters in Kahului to the summit of Haleakala volcano and the Super Day Downhill Bike Tour.

Guidelines & Requirements
1. Dress appropriately in layers is suggested for your comfort. (Long pants and warm tops over shorts and a t-shirt.) Temperatures at the 10,000 foot summit are 30 degrees cooler than at sea level. We provide you with warm windbreaker suits and insulated gloves. Expensive clothing or jewelry is discouraged since this is an outdoor activity and we are not responsible for any damages to personal items.
2. Closed Toe Shoes are required. We recommend tennis shoes or sneakers.
3. Sunglasses & Sunscreen are strongly suggested for your comfort and safety.
4. Competent bikers please.
5. Children must be a minimum of 12 years old AND at least 5 feet tall with a 26" inseam.
6. Weight restriction is a maximum of 230 pounds.
7. No pregnant women allowed because our insurance carrier will not allow expectant mothers to participate as a biker rider but may enjoy our tour from the comfort and safety of our vans.
8. Acknowledgment of Risk. All bikers must read and sign an Acknowledgment of Risk and Safety form prior to the tour. Riders under the age of 18 must have a parental or guardian signature.
9. Items not provided include women's bikes, tandem bikes and carriers.
10. Decided not to bike? We will not issue refunds for those who chose to opt out of the bicycling portion at their own will.
