Come and see where it all began, Parker Ranch, where Paniolos (cowboys) and horses first met 150 years ago. The ride starts at the Blacksmith Shop, going on to the Breaking Pen, through rolling hills to the Stone Corrals, where as many as 5000 head of Herford cattle were held after being driven down from the slopes of Mauna Kea. The cattle being driven looked like a river of red moving down the side of the mountain. From there moving on to more historical sites, such as the Race Track where famous Parker Ranch Thoroughbreds were trained and still hold World records for speed.
Experience the historical ride on horseback through the famous Parker Ranch located in the northern part of the Big Island.
What to know
Rides are offered daily.
Choose:
2 hour Morning Ride checks in at 8:00 am
2 hour Afternoon Ride checks in at 12:00 pm
1 1/2 to 2 hour Sunset Ride checks in at 4:00 pm
We can accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders. Western style only.
Non-English speaking guests are welcomed and easily accommodated.
The minimum age requirement is 7 years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Children cost the same as adults for all horseback rides.
The maximum weight limit is 250 lbs. Please inform us if anyone weighs close to 250 lbs. in the comment box during the check out process.
Refreshments are provided and included in the price for all rides.
We recommend long pants, closed toed shoes, and sunscreen.

From Kona
Take Hwy 19
Turn right onto Hwy 190 (Waikoloa)
Continue on 190 until you reach the junction
Turn left onto Hwy 19
This will take you into Waimea Town
Turn right onto Pukalani Road, (at ACE Hardware)
Follow yellow signs to Cowboys of Hawaii.
Plan on driving for about an hour.
From Hilo
Take Hwy 19 to Waimea
Turn left onto Pukalani Rd. (at ACE Hardware)
Follow yellow signs to Cowboys of Hawaii.
Plan on driving for about 1.5 hours.
