C4 Stand Up Paddle Lessons – Maunalua Bay

Core 4 Training offers entry level Stand Up Paddle Lessons! Teaming up with C4 Waterman the leaders in the production of Stand Up Paddle Board Equipment, our professional instructors will teach techniques of balance, turning, water safety, and equipment management — All while touring the beautiful scenery of Hawaii Kai’s Inner water way and Maunalua Bay.

Upon arrival at Koko Marina Shopping Center, a land lesson is given at the boat dock. You are then guided by a licensed instructor through Koko Marina and out into Maunalua Bay, learning to Stand Up Paddle away from the crowds of Waikiki while learning the fundamentals of the sport.

The entry level program teaches the following skills:
*Introduction to the equipment used in Stand Up Paddle Boarding
*Equipment transport, use and safety
*Introduction to Stand Up Paddle Board flat water safety
*Swimming skills, hydration, stamina, wind effects, current effects, and sun safety
*Launching, beaching, board recovery, paddle recovery, falling and remounting the board.
*How to size the paddle
*How to choose the right board
*The power stroke
*The glide stroke
*The turning stroke
*The quick start stroke

The course will include discussion, demonstration, and in water skills for all of the skills.

What to Know

Twice Daily

Check in: 30 minutes before the lesson.
Lesson times: 10:00am and 1:00pm
Lesson Duration: approximately 90 minutes total. 30 minute land lesson and 60 minute session in the water.

Transportation is available from Waikiki hotels.

Included: Boards ranging from 10 ft to 12 ft, paddles that adjust according to height, and life vests available upon request.
Please wear: swimsuit and sunscreen. Bring a towel.

Retail Store rents and sells: wet suits, rash guards, booties, sunscreen, bottled water, water proof cameras and most anything a guest would need for being out in the Hawaiian sun.

Instructors are Lifeguard and CPR trained and certified by City and County of Honolulu.
