Watch Whales from the surface of the Sea!
Join us off the West Coast for an unforgettable experience as we watch for the magnificent mammals that migrate each year to our warm tropical waters. Off of Oahu's West Coast is a very popular spot for Humpback Whales. See who first spots the tell tale signs of the Humpback whale as they breach the sea's surface for air, slap the ocean with their fins or even jump completely out of the water. Each tour has an expert naturalist on board, learn some amazing details about the Humpback whales. Or listen in on the beautiful songs that the Humpback whales create with our hydrophones.
Winter Season in Hawaii around December to April brings not only the change in weather and the shortening of the sun's path across the sky, but the Majestic Humpback Whales from the Cool Northern seas to the warm waters of Hawaii to feed, calf and mate. Theses majestic mammals are hard to miss in their showy behavior when you know what to look for. Look for breachings, spouts, tails and fins slapping the water. Join with our naturalist as we listen to Hydrophones to pick up the songs of the Male Humpback whale courting through song. The Humpback whales find safety for their young near shore and plenty of food to prepare them for their 3,000 mile journey back North. Did you know, that male Humpback whales only create their intricate "songs" while looking for a mate.
Both Dolphins and Whales are extremely perceptive and sensitive to sound in ways that the Human body has not developed senses for. Dolphins have a complex language of sounds and work together using sound communication. Dolphins and Whales can also make soundings with sound to decipher distances and will recognize individual dolphins by sound. It is a whole new aspect to Dolphins and whales to learn about and to learn a bit about with "Hydrophones" to "listen in". Join our naturalist as we listen in to these amazing mammals of the sea as they communicate and sing.

Note: This tour practices the "passive observation" method while swimming. The Spinner Dolphins, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, and Humpback Whales are Federally protected creatures. If we happen to be snorkeling in an area that any of those creatures swim into, we do not swim after, chase or try to touch any of these creatures. We just stay as still as possible until they have gone by so as not to interupt or disturb them.
