Description
Discover Lana‘i, Maui’s secluded neighbor island. This is a great sailing excursion which will take you from Maui across the Kealaikahiki Channel over to the island of Lana‘i, where you’ll get to snorkel at one of the best diving locations in the world – Hulopoe Beach! It has been voted the number one beach in America! You’ll depart from Lahaina Harbor and then set sail towards Lanai. Enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast of homemade, oven-fresh cinnamon rolls and coffee. Upon your arrival on Lana‘i, you’ll receive your snorkeling equipment and can then explore the fascinating underwater world at the Hulopoe Bay Marine Sanctuary. The water here is so crystal clear it will amaze you. You’ll be able to see many colorful tropical fish and a magnificent coral reef. Don’t forget to bring an underwater camera! Later on, you can also play volleyball, sunbathe on the beach or explore the area.
Once lunchtime rolls around, you’ll be treated to a BBQ lunch at the Hale O Manele Pavilion, which overlooks Manela Bay. The food is outstanding. Trilogy uses Hawaiian kiawe wood and a 5th generation local recipe to create what many say is the best BBQ in Hawaii. Afterwards, you’ll be taken on a van tour of Lanai’s old plantation town. Your local and knowledgeable island guide will answer any questions you may have. Later in the afternoon, you’ll come back on board to sail back to Maui. Even the trip back is a lot of fun and relaxing. Dolphins are almost always seen and if you do the trip during the winter (between December and April), the majestic Pacific humpback whales as well.

FAQs: [ show ]
Will I get seasick? Seasickness is rare on our catamarans because they are large, stable and ocean-tested. Besides that, the waters in the channel between Maui and Lanai are mostly calm.
Do you have life jackets for children? Yes. We will provide both kids jackets and/or ski belts for on board and in water activity.
Where can I change? All our vessels have changing areas.
Are there restrooms on board? Yes, all our vessels are equipped with two restrooms.
Are vegetarian meals available? We offer garden burgers, stir-fried noodles, tossed salad and seasonal fruits.
Do you serve alcohol? No, but you can bring your own. Just keep in mind that we limit any alcohol consumption until all in-water activity has been completed.
Is there shade on your boats? Yes, all of our boats have either covered cabins or awnings or both.
How many passengers go on your boats? Each boat is U.S. Coast Guard certified for substantially more passengers than we take on our tours. Generally, we take 15-20 couples on our 55 ft. catamarans and 20-25 couples on our 65 ft. catamarans.
What is the snorkeling on Lana‘i like?Hulopoe Beach on Lana‘i has been voted as one of the top ten dive sites in the world. We at Trilogy are the only company with permission to take visitors to this awesome location! Most of the time, the snorkeling here is outstanding. There are just a few days during the summer months when surf from the South Pacific reduces the visibility. But 95% of the time, the snorkeling on Lana‘i is world-class!
How often do you see dolphins?Depending on feeding cycles, dolphins (both spinner and bottlenose) are seen almost daily.
Can I swim with the dolphins?Keep in mind that federal law prohibits harassment of any marine mammal. And swimming with dolphins is considered by some to be harassment. While we don’t offer swimming with dolphins, we are happy to say that dolphins have been coming near the place where we snorkel regularly.
