Description
This tour begins with a beautiful view of placid Keehi Lagoon and continues over historic Honolulu Harbor. Here you will see Aloha Tower, once the tallest structure on the island, as well cruise ships from distant ports. Next is downtown Honolulu, featuring the only royal palace in the country. Above the city stands Punchbowl, the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The tour continues above Ala Moana Beach Park, Magic Island, the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor and Waikiki Beach. On your return to the airport, you’ ll see Pearl Harbor.
You’ll continue on along the southern shore of the island, past Waikiki Beach, where you’ll see Diamond Head crater from a dramatic perspective, the “Gold Coast” where millionaires make their homes, and the spectacular Hanauma Bay.
Rounding the east end of the island, you’ll see rugged coastline, inviting Sandy Beach and Makapu’u Point and lighthouse. Your aerial tour continues over Sea Life Park, the estate where TV’s Magnum P.I. was filmed and miles of white sand beach.
You’ll be treated to a stunning view of Mount Olomana and, later, the Nu’uanu Pali where King Kamehameha’s warriors won a decisive battle to unite the islands.

The routes described assume normal trade winds and weather. Pilots reserve the right to alter the flight path of any tour as appropriate for different winds and inclement weather.

1. Head west on the H1 freeway toward the airport.
2. Take exit #18 to Nimitz Hwy (92) Westbound toward the airport.
3. Turn left at Lagoon Dr. (2nd light)
4. Turn right at at Iolana Pl.
5. Look for a Makani Kai Helicopter’s big sign.
6. Free parking
Driving Directions from Ko ‘Olina Resort: (anticipate a 40 minute drive)
1. Head west on Aliinui Dr toward Koio Dr.
2. Turn right at Koio Dr.
3. Turn right at Farrington Highway.
4. Continue on I-H1 E.
5. Take exit 16 toward Airport.
6. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Paiea St/Rental Car Return/Aolele St and merge into Aolele St.
7. Turn right at Lagoon Dr.
8. Turn right at at Iolana Pl.
9. Look for a Makani Kai Helicopter’s big sign.
