Waipio ATV tour

Tucked away about 13 miles from Hilo (on the way to Volcanoes National Park) is a privately owned cattle ranch nestled between snow capped mountains and a smoking Volcano. This special location offers panoramic views of the Puna Coastline, Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa mountains, and the Pu’u O’o vent. Ohia trees thick with yellow, pink, and salmon colored Lehua blossoms sway gently in the mountain breezes. Ducks swim happily in rock wall ponds while cows, horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, and pet pigs frolic amidst rolling pastures.

Pa’ani Ranch offers a little something for all age groups and interests, from Keiki (children) to Kupuna (grandparents), for the adventurous to the more laid back individual. Come and experience the Aloha, the beauty, and the fun, on our 220-acre ranch. We’re open daily & easy to find off of Hwy 11 & North Kulani road.

ATV Experience tour inclusive of seven all terrain vehicles. Ride through the 220 acre ranch on a variety of terrains, up and down hills, through rolling pastures, over the ocaasional puddle, and on gravel roads previously used by Puna Sugar during the Sugar industry era. Guided tours are approximately one and one half hour long, with occasional stops for picture taking. Guides share the history of the ranch and the culture of the Big Island and are generally entertaining. ATV’s are automatic and easy to operate.

Riders must be at least 16 years of age, in good physical health, and able to follow basic instructions. We are not able to accommodate pregnant women. People with other medical conditions should check with their doctor before participating.

What to Know

Daily

Check-in: at Pa’ani Ranch 30 minutes in advance of tour activity to complete necessary paperwork and to attend pre-activity safety briefings.
Tour Duration: 1.5 hours

Included: Complimentary water and juice as well as light snacks are included in the price.
Please bring: sunscreen, a light jacket, and sunglasses or other form of eye protection.

Transportation within a 30 miles radius of our ranch is available upon request for small groups.

ATV tour requirements/restrictions
Minimum Age: 16 years old.
Dress: Closed toe shoes and long pants.

Liability Waivers
All guests must sign a liability waiver and Indemnity Release prior to participation. Guests under the age of 18 (minors) must have their parents or legal guardian sign applicable liability waiver.
