Description

Formerly know as the Gathering of Kings Luau, the ‘Hawai’i Loa’ Lu’au is a very special luau held only on Saturdays at the Fairmont Orchid, Plantation Estates on the South Kohala Coast of the Big Island in an ancient Royal (Ali’i) gathering area known as Kalahuipua’a of Hawaii. You won’t find another Luau like Hawai’i Loa. If you can, don’t miss the opportunity to bring your canoe ashore with us at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel and try our amazing dishes and see the our internationally acclaimed performers.

Kalahuipua’a is steeped in tradition and history, an area known as a gathering place for Ali’i (royalty) and special visitors. Join us for an evening full of the same Hawaiian tradition and culture of hospitality at the Fairmont Orchid and create with us special memories as you take part in our Traditional Hawaiian activities. Feast with us on our sumptuos display of local Hawaiian dishes, try something new and different or something familiar and “ono” (delicious). Don’t forget the desert table and as they say in Hawaii, “don’t eat until you’re full, eat until you’re tired!” Don’t forget the “keiki” or children, we have a buffet table for the kids too! Watch as an internationally renowned cast of performers share with you in their performance, stories of Hawaii in the Traditional “Kahiko” Hawaiian way of “hula & mele” (dance & chant), through live music, and dance. Enjoy pre-dinner activities and games and our delicious exquisite buffet experience.

Watch the story of Hawaii develop and see the new cultural influences affect style of dance and costume as the show progresses. From the first Polynesian wayfarers that sailed across the Pacific in their double hull canoes to the many cultures that made Hawaii their new home during the Sugar Cane and Pineapple industries. ‘Pae mai la ka wa’a i ka ‘aina’, The canoe has come ashore. So bring your canoe ashore here to join with us and feast and rest with us this night at the Hawaii Loa Luau.
