Germaines Luau

Germaine’s “backyard-style” luau offers a more intimate setting and a casual atmosphere. The drums and sounds of island music will do their job to get you into the right mood. Audience participation is encouraged throughout the evening with the women being taught the traditional “Hukilau Hula” and the men trying their hips at the Tahitian “Ami.”

After the impressive Imu ceremony, in which the kalua pig is unearthed from the traditional rock-filled underground oven, followed by a prayer (pule) to the ancient gods, the buffet is opened. Help yourself to the multi-course Polynesian buffet that will make your taste buds dance. You’ll find traditional island delicacies as well as American favorites.

This is your chance to taste the island staple Poi, a paste made of cooked and pounded taro roots. Other foods include Kalua Pig, LomiLomi Salmon, Sauteed Island Fish with Tartar sauce, Hawaiian Pulehu Chicken, White Rice, Fresh Fruit Salad, Tossed green Salad, Macaroni/Potato Salad and Sweet Dinner Rolls. You definitely have to try their Haupia pudding, which is made out of coconut milk and the chocolate or vanilla cake. The drinks are good and plenty as well. Try the popular Mai Tai or Blue Hawaii. You’ll also find a large selection of alcohol-free beverages, tea and coffee. (Menu subject to change without notice).

After dinner the feast for your eyes begins. Enjoy a fabulous Polynesian revue featuring some of the most talented island performers who will take you on a musical journey throughout the Pacific. You’ll see the native Hula, Tahitian drum dances and the exciting Samoan fire-knife dance.

This includes a fresh flower lei or a kukui nut lei greeting and photo opportunity with our Polynesian models in premier beach-side location upon arrival. Reserved seating in our premier, VIP,  of our beach-side dining area. Your dining experience includes a Plumeria hostess to assist. First in line to our All-you-can-eat Hawaiian/American dinner menu with initial table service including unlimited self-serve buffet including a separate dedicated bar window for our Plumeria guests. 3 specialty beverage tickets for adults (redeemable for standard alcoholic beverages. More are available for purchase) with unlimited soft drinks, hot coffee & tea. What to know

All times and inclusions are subject to change based on availability..
What days of the week do you operate?  Every night except Fridays.
What is your check in time if driving out? 5:45 pm.
What time does the Luau start? Luau begins about 6:00pm (or when the last buses arrive). Subject to change weather permitting.
What is your schedule of events? 6:00 Imu ceremony & activities, followed by dinner, after dinner learn the Hukilau Hula. Main show starts at 8:00pm, Luau finishes about 9:00pm
Do you provide Transportation? Yes, from Waikiki. See rates below.
Bus Transportation Pick up: Starts at 4:15pm-4:45pm at select hotels in Waikiki.
What about children 3 and younger? Children 3 and under are free. They will be provided a smaller round plate for their dinner, along with assistance at the buffet lines if needed. Please remember to let us know how many you are bringing! Small children may be required to share a seat with parents on motor coach.
